MY BIKE - AKA 'THE DISPOSER'

BY MIS CHIEF

some specs on my bike
front center; 24.5 in. a little over 62 cm
chain stay length; 17 in. about 430mm to the center of the
dropout
the top tube has an effective length of 59cm which most people
would say is too long but I like to stand up and stretch out
the seattube length is pretty irrevelant but it's 72.5cm up to
my
wonderful brooks saddle from the center of the crank
i wanted a tall headtube because i think tall stems look a
little like an afterthought
on something that doesn't fit right and i wanted as much
standover as possible
because i am a little prone to accidents, besides this frame has
enough
tire clearance to use 29 inch x 2.1 tires and i might want to
ride it offroad
i used a 80mm steel nitto stem with custom bent steel handlebar
both
chrome plated, standing and climbing put a lot of stress on
handlebars and stems and i like steel
I am using a single 48 tooth chainring and a 5 speed freewheel
on a high flange normandy hub with 120mm dropout spacing as i
thought
i might want to run track hubs
the head and seat tube angles are both 74 degrees so this bike
handles pretty
quickly and i have 60mm of bb drop
I like linear pull brakes and the avid levers and the thomson
seatpost are
the only new parts on this ride besides the hutchinson tires
and the frame of course
the tubing in this frame is mostly columbus, a double butted .9
.6 .9 top and down
tube, 28.6mm and 31.8mm respectively, a single butted seattube
and a 1 inch steerer
the dt-ht is lugged, the fork crown is long-shen,
the lugged bb is kirk pacenti's and the rest is fillet brazed
with paragon rear entry dropouts
and 4 rack mounts front and back although I haven't built the
racks yet
the frame weighs a little over 4 lbs which i think is perfect
for the type of
riding i do and my weight
I really like my bike a lot
